Disney’s Pixar new film Onward is set in a suburban fantasy world. The story is about two teenage elf brothers, Ian (Tom Holland) and Barley (Chris Pratt) Lightfoot that go on a journey to discover if there is still magic left in the world in order to spend one last day with their father, who died when they were too young to remember him.

From UP to Coco, Pixar always knows how to move us with their compelling stories and Onward is no exception. This movie tells a story about brotherhood, love, and personal growth. Being a film that’s marketed for children they really did a great job to showcase mature situations in a way that kids could understand and at the same time be entertaining. The script is well written and I can’t find a flaw in it. In addition, the characters are very relatable one way or another.

When it comes to Pixar, they are topnotch in the animation industry. Onward shows us what it’s like to live in a world where there’s little magic left behind. The film is visually pleasing and I think you should expect a couple of cosplay of the main characters in a Comic-Con near you. On the other hand, the voice acting was great and the chemistry between them made the relationship of these elf brothers more believable.

I honestly enjoyed this film very much and it even made me shed a couple of tears by the end of it. Onward is a moving and heartfelt movie about brotherhood. It has an amazing script and animation as expected from Pixar. All the characters are relatable. I can definitely say this is an Oscar contender film.

I give this movie 4.5/5 pants.
